Effective communication skills are essential for all occupational health professionals providing case management services. This workshop is focused on understanding what influences employees and other stakeholders, how this can be influenced using the art of negotiation. In addition to honing interpersonal skills, there will be a focus on handling difficult conversations whether with human resources, line managers, business owners, Trade Unions or employees.


Speaker Bios: Nikki Cordell

Background

My career in health and wellbeing arena has covered both private and public sector organisations. Over the last 30 Years, I have Held Roles in sales and marketing, contract management and spent 20 years as the Managing Director of a leading UK EAP and wellbeing company. I am a qualified coach and mentor, have published numerous articles on workplace health and wellbeing in addition to speaking at conferences and events.

Approach

Everyone has the ability to embrace change and to achieve their potential, I believe in empowering leaders and managers with training, tools and techniques to take care of their employees mental and physical wellbeing at work.

My role with EOPH

I am the Managing Director of EOPH and oversee the strategic direction of the blended learning packages under development. I regularly obtain feedback from clinicians working in occupational health to ensure the development of new learning meets the needs of our target audience. I regularly train in my specialist areas which include risk management, report writing and leadership.

Patrick Bird

Background
I have a unique background with a successful corporate career as an Accountant, Finance Director and Project Director in Blue Chip multi-national organisations. This is further complemented by my extensive experience as a coach, trainer, facilitator and professional acting career. In my capacity as a trainer, I work with people at all levels in organisations, creating and delivering bespoke training and consultancy solutions and facilitation of client programmes. The aim is to develop and enhance key business skills to make the behavioural changes needed to improve and enhance their flexibility and leadership performance.

Approach
I use experiential training techniques to embed the learning and help people to make choices about behaviours and how they communicate effectively in order to bring about organisational and personal improvement.

My role with EOPH
I work with EOPH in the development and delivery of transformational training for people and organisations in the business of Occupational Health.
